Visa in Hand!

After a bit of a process, and playing the 'waiting game', I got my visa yesterday. Through the excitement and butterflies the reality of my departure set in quick.

For the past few weeks, everything was essentially on hold until that piece of paper was in my hands. I couldn't give notice on my apartment, I couldn't give notice at work, nor did I want to start packing and selling things that I own. There was no point in doing it if the answer to the visa was 'no'.

And with the visa in hand, I can begin organizing my life and packing up yet again.

This adventure is a long time coming. I have been rooted in Vancouver for far too long and that gypsy blood I claim to have has been pushing and pulling me to leave. And finally I can.

When I leave exactly is still to be determined, but I do know that I need to be in Colombia before the middle of August. There is still so much to do before then, but at least I know that my time left in Vancouver is short and that I am going.
